
Is this therapy or coaching?
This is change coaching, informed by psychotherapy. We focus on moving forward, using insight only where it helps remove blocks to change.
Do I need to know my goal before starting?
No. Some clients arrive with a clear goal, others with a sense that something needs to shift. We clarify this together.
How practical is the work?
Very. Sessions are structured, with a clear focus and agreed actions. We review progress regularly and adjust as needed.
Will we talk about the past?
Only where it feels relevant and if you wish to. Past experiences may be acknowledged if they are affecting the present, but the focus generally stays on action and progress.
How long do people usually work with you?
Many clients begin with an initial block of six sessions and then review their progress. Some choose to continue with regular sessions over a longer period, finding this ongoing support helpful for maintaining focus, accountability, and momentum.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes. My work is confidential and guided by EMCC and BACP ethical frameworks.
Do you work online and in person?
Yes. I work online via Zoom and in person in North London and Wheathampstead.
How is coaching different from counselling or therapy?
Coaching focuses on the present and future, supporting you to create change, make decisions, and move forward. Counselling and therapy often focus more on healing past experiences. My background allows me to notice emotional patterns while staying change-focused.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
Coaching may be right if you feel stuck, unmotivated, or at a crossroads, and want to take steps forward. A free consultation helps us decide together.
What happens in a typical session?
Sessions are collaborative and practical. We clarify what you want to focus on, explore what may be getting in the way, and agree realistic next steps. Supportive accountability can be included if helpful.
How often will we meet?
This varies. Some clients prefer weekly or fortnightly sessions, others monthly. We agree the pace together and review it as we go.
Can I switch between coaching and therapy?
Yes. If deeper therapeutic work feels more appropriate at any point, we can discuss this and agree the best way forward.
What if I’m not sure what I want to work on yet?
That’s very common. Early sessions can be used to clarify goals and make sense of what feels unclear or stuck.
Do you offer concessions or packages?
I offer a limited number of concession spaces and flexible options. This can be discussed during the consultation.
What are your cancellation and rescheduling terms?
I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes. Late cancellations are usually charged unless we have agreed otherwise.
